Stefan Richter’s background in audio extends from the deeply technical to the highly creative.

Understanding the art form and equipment from every angle makes him a well-rounded engineer – equally comfortable designing studios or circuits, mixing/editing/recording music or film and TV audio, or repairing vintage equipment.

His roots as a musician inform his artistic approach to various areas of engineering. The false dichotomy between the creative and the technical breaks down in these areas. Studio and circuit design are extremely creative tasks that must be carried out artfully, just as guitar playing can be a heavily technical feat. All of this must be guided by the ear, with the listener or user in mind.
